​What is a doula?
The word doula is the Greek word for a woman who serves. A doula supports a woman in before, during and after childbirth. She provides informational, physical, emotional and partner support.

As I work through my studies in midwifery, my doula services are AFFORDABLE! ​

I provide informational support (so you make informed decisions about your birth options), partner support (I do not take the place of the father at all), emotional support (I am with the mother 100% of the time) and physical support (comfort measures such as acupressure and hot and cold packs etc.).

The presence of a doula at your birth:

increases birth experience satisfaction
lowers c section rates
lowers medical intervention rates
shortens labor
reduces fear and anxiety about labor and delivery
lowers level of stress hormones
lowers chances of postpartum depression
And much more!

My fees include being on call for you from date of hire (unlimited phone and email support) for your pregnancy and then on call for you two weeks before and two weeks after your due date. I also include two to three prenatal visits, and two to three postpartum visits. ​

I will also connect you with other pregnancy and birth resources on the Cape! Especially if you're interested in homebirth!
